Controversy over Commemoration of World War I in France

The French government has issued a text outlining its proposals for commemoration of the Grande Guerre 2014-2018. In fact its plan is to commemorate during this period events from both World Wars including the 70th Anniversary of the Resistance,  ‘the liberation of France and the victory over nazi barbarism’. Some historians believe this will lead to confusion and that it is too Franco-centric, downplaying the significance of the major turning points of World War II outside of France.
